Today's Most Pressing Task: Relaxing

Today is one of those days that just screams, "RELAX!!!!!!"

The forecast calls for sunny and 75F.

I got my walk in early, opting for a down and back through Tom Lee Park. Soon my route will change as the powers that be set up for the Beale Street Music Festival and other Memphis In May events.

All my chores at the condo were complete by 6:00 am.

I took thirty minutes this morning, laid on top the freshly made bed, and meditated.

Once upon a time I poo-pooed meditation.

Not any more.

I got out of bed just as the lovely Miss Chris called. She had come out of a meeting and wanted to check in with me.

God I love that woman. The only thing that would make this day complete would be her being here to share the day.

Soon sweetheart, soon.

So what's an old retired air traffic controller to do with the rest of his day?

Looks like lunch out and about today. The choices are amazing. I live within walking distance of some great places that have patios.

Patio dining in the Spring is truly one of life's great pleasures.

I might actually venture out to the Memphis Botanical Garden tomorrow for a picnic lunch. The Japanese Garden there is simply gorgeous this time of year. Regardless of their posted rules I will sneak in a small split of wine to go with the homemade crusty bread, marinated veggies, and cheeses. The Fresh Market in East Memphis has a wonderful selection of cheeses.

Cheese might be the perfect food. It definitely is when picnicking.

Now then, it's just past 11:00 am, I've made plans for the next two days.

My work here is done.

If your weather is anything like Memphis' weather today............play hooky.

Phone it in.

Call it off.

Put your shorts and sandals on.

Have a glass of wine at a patio bar today.

Smile at passersby and anyone within smiling distance.

Forget your problems and thank God for your blessings.

Exhale.

Relax.

Until the next time, all y'all take care of yourselves.

Air Traffic Mike, ret.

I live in a dry county and there are no lunch patio but the sun still shines when I work to pay the bills so I guess it could be worst. Have a good day while the rest of us slave on.
